The Daikin Altherma R Hybrid - HPU Hybrid system integrates, in a single solution, an air-water heat pump and a gas condensing boiler to heat, cool and produce domestic hot water. For this reason it is ideal for replacing old boilers as it does not require the replacement of radiators (with flows up to 80°C) or pre-existing pipes.
Hybrid technology means that the Altherma R Hybrid heat pump automatically determines the most economical type of operation, moment by moment, between heat pump only, boiler only or simultaneous operation of both units. For this reason, the Daikin hybrid system offers an efficiency that can reach up to an incredible 35% more than a classic condensing boiler and an A++ energy class.
The Altherma R Hybrid - HPU Hybrid system offers all of Daikin's cutting-edge technology combined with great energy and management savings.
The system proposed here is composed of an 8 kW external heat pump combined with a 33 kW condensing (methane) boiler coupled with a heat pump heat exchange module (Hydrobox). The Hydrobox unit is equipped with a high efficiency pump, 10 l expansion tank, safety valve and brass filter.
The kit also includes the electronic control system, the cover for the hydraulic connections under the boiler and the condensate collection tray for the internal unit of the heat pump.
GUARANTEED SAVINGS AND HIGH COMFORT
The Daikin HPU Hybrid technology, thanks to a high nominal COP , is able to guarantee low costs and maximum comfort thanks to the alternation or simultaneous operation of the heat pump and boiler.
In heating mode , with external temperatures above 3°C only the heat pump will work to optimize costs; between 3 and -4°C the system will work in a hybrid manner with the heat pump and boiler working simultaneously for greater comfort in less time; with colder temperatures, only the gas boiler will be in operation. This translates into great energy savings, especially in medium latitudes, given that for most of the year the heat pump alone or the hybrid combination will work harder, being more economical and efficient than the condensing boiler alone.
For cooling , the system can be connected to a floor system or fan coils.
The production of domestic hot water is instead entrusted to a double aluminum heat exchanger inside the boiler: the production of hot water is also more efficient with the Daikin Altherma HPU Hybrid because for its production it will be possible to exploit both the heat of the fumes of combustion of the boiler than that produced by the heat pump.
By combining the Daikin Altherma R Hybrid hybrid system with a hot water storage tank and/or a solar system, efficiency and savings can be maximized by focusing more on renewable energy sources such as solar and photovoltaic.
LARGE MODULARITY OF INSTALLATION AND USE
Daikin HPU Hybrid, as a hybrid heat pump, is also excellent for its ease of installation : the two parts that make up the internal unit, condensing boiler and heat pump exchange module, are in fact supplied separately to be easier to handle and easily assembled. The external unit is also compact and can be easily placed even in tight spaces.
The Daikin Altherma R Hybrid - HPU Hybrid heat pump can be managed from the advanced control panel supplied (code EKRUCBL1) but also remotely via smartphone by downloading the appropriate Daikin Residential Controller app. The control system can be set to guarantee the most economical operation of the Daikin Altherma R Hybrid: by setting the gas and electricity costs, the HPU Hybrid will choose, based on the external and internal temperatures detected and set, the ideal operation to reduce costs . Alternatively, the control system can be set to allow more ecological operation of the Daikin Altherma R Hybrid and thus reduce primary energy consumption.
The internal unit of the hybrid system can be converted into LPG gas using a specific conversion kit to be purchased separately (for further information contact the local Daikin CAT).
