The Caleffi 5219 series thermostatic mixer is used in hot water production systems for sanitary use. The operating principle is to keep the water temperature constant at the set value. The thermostatic mixer mixes the incoming hot and cold water in such a way as to keep the regulated temperature of the outgoing mixed water constant; it is also equipped with a thermal closing function in the event of a lack of incoming cold water.
In centralized systems for the production of hot water for domestic use with storage, in order to prevent the proliferation of the dangerous Legionella bacteria , it is necessary to store the hot water at a minimum temperature of 60 °C; in this regard, the Caleffi 5219 series thermostatic mixer comes into play, since by installing a thermostatic mixer on the line coming out of the hot water storage, at the point of entry into the distribution network, various inconveniences are prevented both from a hygienic-sanitary and technical, and the distribution temperature is kept constant as the conditions of temperature, inlet pressure and flow rate vary, as well as allowing the temperature to be adjusted to the desired value, with an anti-tampering block.
Made with materials that prevent the formation of limescale, with a low friction coefficient, which guarantee high performance over time and longevity of the system.
The following are highlighted on the body of the mixer:
- hot water inlet with letter “H” (Hot)
- cold water inlet with letter “C” (Cold)
- mixed water outlet with “MIX” writing.
The Caleffi 5219 series thermostatic mixer can be installed in any position, both vertical and horizontal. The installation must be carried out by expert and qualified technical personnel; further information regarding installation methods and technical specifications is contained in the user manual supplied with the product.
