The deaerator is a device that uses the degassing process to transform the air that forms in the circuits of heating systems into micro-bubbles and then slowly and continuously discharge it outside. Thus it allows to always have a system free from air formations inside, therefore more functional, less noisy, free from localized overheating, corrosion and mechanical damage.
The Caleffi DISCALSLIM ® is a compact deaerator that can be easily installed under any boiler, both on horizontal and vertical pipes but not upside down thanks to its adjustable T-shaped connections. In this version it is suitable for iron pipes.
The particular internal section of DISCALSLIM ® allows very low pressure drops; it causes the flow of water to be partially diverted into the deaeration chamber and slowed down, it is then divided by the appropriate fins so as to form small vortices; in doing so, the air present in the system, previously in the form of micro-bubbles, aggregates into larger bubbles, rises to the top of the device and pushes the float downwards, causing the air vent valve to open.
In the event of water leaks, the hygroscopic safety cap supplied closes the deaerator valve, avoiding damage to the system.
The deaerator is preferably installed on the boiler flow pipe.
Built with top quality materials , the Caleffi DISCALSLIM® deaerator has 3/4 F (code 551805) or 1 F (code 8551806) connections, the body in special high resistance technopolymer, the float in PP, guide and rod brass float, stainless steel float lever and spring, EPDM seals. It resists an operating temperature up to 110°C and the maximum operating and discharge pressure is 3 bar.
