The ITAP 192 Y-filter is used in plumbing, heating , air conditioning and compressed air systems and is used to ensure that most of the impurities present in the system water separate from it. Its filtering capacity is given by the fine mesh metal mesh inside . The network prevents solid impurities from entering the pipes and, settling, reducing the water passage sections, increasing pressure drops and oxidation phenomena. Precisely for this reason, the filter must be installed upstream of all those components which could be damaged by the presence of impurities in the water. The filter is normally mounted at the water mains inlet before check valves and pressure reducers.
It is advisable to install the Y-filter on horizontal pipes and with the cap facing downwards to maximize its efficiency.
The ITAP 192 series Y-filter presented here has a brass body and has 1 female/female threaded connections, a stainless steel filter cartridge and an inspection cap.
To simplify periodic maintenance and cleaning operations, it is advisable to mount shut-off valves upstream and downstream of the filter.
