The Ecodan Split air-water heat pump is the new combined solution proposed by Mitsubishi Electric to best satisfy multiple needs: heating, cooling and domestic hot water production. It consists of an internal unit consisting of the Hydrotank Split internal hydronic module capable of producing hot water for heating/cooling and sanitary use, having an integrated 200 liter storage tank and an external direct expansion unit consisting of the pump of heat from the 6 kW SUZ-SWM series with performance up to energy class A++ for the production of water at 55ºC and A+++ for water produced at 35°C.
ECODAN HYDROTANK SPLIT INTERNAL UNIT WITH INTEGRATED STORAGE 200 liters
The Mitsubishi Electric Hydrotank indoor unit is the new hydronic module of the Ecodan series that works in combination with the SUZ-SWM heat pump of the same line and which offers a wide range of choices, being able to produce hot water for heating/cooling and also domestic hot water by incorporating a boiler with a storage capacity of 200 litres. This internal unit is reversible, therefore it is also possible to produce chilled water for summer air conditioning.
The split Hydrotank from the Ecodan series presents a series of technical features that make it innovative, versatile and extremely technological. First of all, the production of DHW has been optimised, in fact thanks to the energy saving function it is possible to reach the highest efficiency class (A+) in compliance with EU Regulation 813/2013, furthermore there has been an optimization of the DHW heating cycles and better exploitation of the hot water in the storage thanks to the addition of the second THW5A thermistor, selectable from the remote control.
From the point of view of components, worthy of mention is the innovative interaction between the plate exchanger and the new scale trap filter, which keeps the heat exchange unchanged in the long term, preventing calcium from depositing in the exchanger; the result is an exchange surface that is always homogeneous and clean which ensures that the performance of the DHW cycle remains unchanged over time. The reversible split Hydrotank also contains an integrated condensate collection tray prepared with a drainage pipe with drain on the back.
Some of the functions that can be set are: Domestic hot water/Legionella prevention, which control the operation of the DHW tank heating; Forced DHW which is used to force the system to operate in DHW mode; Heating/cooling, the heating/cooling menus allow you to control the heating and cooling of rooms, normally using radiators, ventilated convectors or underfloor heating/cooling systems, based on the type of installation; Holiday mode, which can be used to keep the system operating at reduced flow temperatures, thus reducing energy consumption when the home is uninhabited; Programming timer, it is possible to set the programming timer in two ways, for example, one for summer and the other for winter and then, the Self-adaptive function which detects the temperature of the internal environment and that of the external, keeping the water flow temperature in the system stable, thus avoiding waste and increasing comfort and energy saving; this function can be set easily and constantly ensures the right energy supply, also being able to influence the regulation of future trends in the room temperature through a dynamic estimate of the same. Further advantages of the Hydrotank Split Ecodan internal unit concern: linear, modern and sober design and small dimensions (HxWxD 1400x595x680) which allow installation in small spaces such as closets, small niches etc.; maintenance simplified and facilitated by the presence of a single front panel from which all the main components can be viewed; easy handling thanks to the lower handle; SG ready function for integration with photovoltaic systems, allows you to maximize the self-consumption of electricity coming from a photovoltaic system and is created with 2 additional inputs.
EXTERNAL UNIT ECODAN AIR WATER HEAT PUMP 6 kW
The Ecodan SUZ-SWM series heat pump is the new gem from Mitsubishi Electric which excellently satisfies any need for winter and summer air conditioning and also for the production of domestic hot water. Designed to help users in the ordinary management of the product in a simple and intuitive way, making it easy to constantly monitor the settings and their energy expenditure.
This 6 kW heat pump is equipped with Inverter technology and is environmentally friendly by virtue of the use of R32 gas with low environmental impact; capable of excellent performance, it reaches energy class A++ for the production of water at 55ºC and A+++ for water produced at 35°C, taking air from the outside and using it as the sole source of energy for the production of heat, avoids the use of any type of fuel, requiring only a minimum energy contribution.
The unit is characterized by the use of a DC inverter compressor which allows the power supplied to be modulated and is complete with a hydronic module consisting of the internal Split Hydrotank from the same Ecodan line.
TECHNOLOGY, COMFORT AND SAVINGS
The Mitsubishi Electric Ecodan heat pump works at high efficiency, and being able to produce water up to 60°C it can be easily combined with low temperature systems (fan coils, radiators, underfloor heating) and used for the production of domestic hot water being combined to the internal Hydrotank Split unit which acts as a storage unit with a capacity of 200 litres; capable of excellent energy performance up to class A++ in heating and A+ for the production of domestic hot water.
This compact heat pump is highly efficient and high-performance, representing the ideal solution for new buildings thanks to its many potentials.
Equipped with Inverter technology thanks to which a notable reduction in consumption and less wear of the compressor is achieved, it brings advantages in the short and long term both in terms of performance and longevity of the system in general. It is equipped with a self-diagnostic system which facilitates recovery operations; it also features the innovative SD TOOL system which allows you to enter the operating settings, facilitating start-up, furthermore in the event of a technical intervention the set information can be easily viewed, also facilitating the resolution of any problems and/or anomalies and is equipped with SG Ready for integration with photovoltaic systems, a function that allows you to maximize the self-consumption of electricity coming from a photovoltaic system and is achieved with 2 additional inputs. The Auto Restart restores the normal functions of the machine in the event that there is an abrupt interruption of electricity and then, the inevitable acoustic comfort ensured by the Silent mode function, with two intensity levels that can be set (Silent and Ultra Silent) via command remote, essential for your own rest and that of your neighbors.
The numerous functions that can be set are the same as those described for the Hydrotank Split internal unit with which the external unit works constantly in synergy as it is two modules combined in a single solution. Further functions and characteristics referring to the heat pump can, however, be known and explored in greater detail using the installation manual also supplied with the product as for the Hydrotank Split internal unit.
Both Mitsubishi Electic Ecodan units can be managed via the FTC6 control system, a backlit control unit equipped with a large graphic icon display that can be removed from the body of the internal unit and can be installed in a remote location, through which it is possible to set operating parameters, functions, diagnostics and consumption monitoring. Management can also be carried out via wireless control (optional) by downloading the dedicated MELcloud App on Google Play and App Store.
